Thank you. Thank you to all the Florida voters who supported clean water candidates in this election. Thank you Bullsugar.org nation for changing the narrative, which has forced Florida's politicians to face accountability for our water management crisis in a public forum. Thank you for showing us what a powerful force we can be when we make our voices heard. Perhaps for the first time in our state’s history, water quality was a headline issue that impacted several major races, and in some cases may have influenced the outcome.
We now have our sights set forward, and we have never been more committed to working toward real solutions to restore our waters and protect them for our future generations. As we enter the next stage of our campaign, we are deeply inspired by the hundreds of thousands of Floridians who have come together under a common belief - that clean water is a basic human right. Together we'll keep building momentum to finish what we've started. We've come so far, so fast, but we've barely scratched the surface of our potential. Our model is now proven: the impact of social media campaigns on elections is unquestionable.
In the coming weeks, we will focus squarely on amplifying the Now Or Neverglades Declaration. We will ensure that the movement continues to gain enough steam to ultimately achieve its primary purpose – to ensure the purchase of enough land in the Everglades Agricultural Area to create a dynamic reservoir that will be used to stop the harmful discharges east and west, and to send water south into the Everglades and Florida Bay.
Stay tuned…we are just getting started.
