Thanks to heroic efforts on the part of many, Joe Negron's EAA Reservoir bill passed.
This bill COULD greatly reduce damaging discharges to the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee and send clean water to the Everglades and Florida Bay.
But ONLY if it includes enough land to ensure that the water is clean and the reservoir is dynamic, continuously sending water south all year long.
Sugar lobbyists have already made statements suggesting no private land is necessary, but the scientific modeling has not come to that conclusion yet!
Our lawmakers must stay true to this bill's intentions and the principles of the Now Or Neverglades Declaration, and must commit to acquire the land necessary to send CLEAN water south and save America's Everglades, Florida's Keys, Miami's water supply, and our coastal estuaries.
